Designed to Solve Customer Needs
Customer experience matters more than ever in the fast-paced world of retail. Today our small business owner customers count on us for more than shipping. They choose The UPS Store for packing, printing, and mailbox services. To enhance these services, we asked real customers for their feedback on the design.
Our research included everything from interviews and surveys to assessing locations across the country. In the end, we learned that customers wanted to see more of the work we are doing.
The design has a more open layout that helps show the great care and expertise behind our services. We believe that being transparent in an in-center experience can help earn confidence.

Its bold and inviting blend of contemporary style is made to fit your customers’ needs by providing you with more ways to deliver in a practical, workshop-inspired setting.

Natural Evolution of The UPS Store
With this new floorplan, customers are guided to dedicated service areas that offer collaboration, quickness, and privacy when needed. Opening the space up gives a look into the back of the workshop, highlighting expertise, transparency and showing we stand by our promises and guarantees as a brand.
Colors from the previous generation of centers have been updated with a brighter palette that feels inviting against wood finish flooring in the retail space. Industrial lighting and concrete finish flooring create intuitive transitions to the workshop areas.
To increase efficiency, what was once rigid has been made flexible, modular, and functional. The center is now divided into three zones that are based on what we heard from franchise owners.
- Zone One: 24-hour access to mailboxes, 24/7 lockers and a self-serve printer at the front of the center with a security gate restricting access to the rest of it.
- Zone Two: Service area for packing, shipping, or printing during business hours.
- Zone Three: Back of the center workshop where associates pack, ship, and handle print production.
