The UPS Store and Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino are a Win-Win

The UPS Store in the Caesar's Palace Hotel provides business center services to a variety of guests.

Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino welcomes hundreds of thousands of guests each year. These guests come from far and wide to explore the iconic Las Vegas Strip, shop, gamble, dine, see shows or attend large consumer and corporate conventions. The hotel’s high traffic and wide variety of customers requires a state-of-the-art business center ready to serve any guest’s need. Caesars Palace recognized this need and in 2012 they chose The UPS Store as their new business center provider.

The UPS Store Caesars Palace franchisee Nicole Byrne and her father Al Gosik, also franchisees of The UPS Store at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, seized the opportunity to expand their portfolio to include Caesars Palace. The Caesars Palace opportunity was a four-store deal with Caesars Entertainment, and it allowed the franchisees to also open The UPS Store business centers at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and Harrah’s Las Vegas.

Don Ross, vice president of catering, convention and events, has worked for Caesars Entertainment for about 30 years and now oversees all nine of the company’s hotels in Las Vegas.

“The trend is to partner with people who do things the best,” said Ross. “We wanted a name that clients would recognize to provide all of their business center needs on property. The UPS Store gives a better level of service to our customers. It was a win-win for everyone.”

Serving the Convention Customer

With more than 300,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, Caesars Palace hosts a variety of consumer and corporate conventions every year. Convention customers have a wide range of printing and shipping needs. The UPS Store Caesars Palace prints everything from directional signage for the convention floor to name tags, flyers, foam core signs and any other booth materials or handouts needed for an event.  Convention attendees and business travelers often use the computer work station rentals to print emails and work remotely.

At the conclusion of large events, The UPS Store takes shipping services right to the convention floor, removing the extra step of carrying the packages down to business center. The shipping stations expedite the process, increasing convenience and efficiency for conventioneers and event attendees.

“70 percent of our customers are convention travelers,” noted Byrne. “Shipping is a huge part of the convention business too. The shipping stations that we set up on the convention floor have become a huge hit and frequent request.”

The Las Vegas Vacationer

Tourists staying or shopping at Caesars Palace are also frequent customers of The UPS Store, using its business center services to check-in for their flight, print boarding passes and even weigh their luggage.

“Both domestic and international customers bring in their luggage and weigh it so they can take the excess out and put it in different suitcases, or we ship it home for them,” shared Byrne. “Coming to us is definitely cheaper than the airline fee.”

Las Vegas is well-known for destination weddings and entertainment. From brides to celebrities, The UPS Store at Caesars Palace faces some of the toughest customers with high expectations and who demand flawless service.

The UPS Store brings peace of mind to brides, grooms and wedding planners by taking care of their business services needs; from shipping wedding dresses, gifts, cake toppers to even printing of wedding photos on canvases or wedding programs and materials for the ceremony. The UPS Store also assists many celebrities and entertainment industry professionals. When away from home, many often find the need to print and notarize documents or to pack and ship fragile items.

“You get to meet someone new every day,” said Byrne. “From newlyweds to celebrity guests to international royalty, it is always exciting to see who will walk into the store next.”

Catering to Hotel Employees and Departments

The UPS Store at Caesars Palace works with the different hotel departments on projects such as coordinating the shipment of lost and found items and printing menus, agendas or signs for internal and external meetings.

The UPS Store also provides printing and shipping services to the Caesars Palace employees.  Unlike most The UPS Stores, the holidays are a slower time for the Caesars Palace location due to the decrease of convention and tourist customers. The UPS Store seizes this opportunity to be a convenient and reliable shipping option for Caesars Palace employees, inviting them to conveniently bring their holiday packages into work to be shipped.

“It’s great to have a one-stop-shop for shipping and printing right on the property, for both corporate and personal use,” added Ross. “They assist all of our departments including convention services, retail, food and beverage and concierge; and our employees know that they can refer a customer to The UPS Store for quick and efficient delivery on any request.”

The positive working relationship between the hotel staff and The UPS Store staff also plays an important role. The UPS Store employees are trained with a strong focus on customer service, matching the high standards upheld by all Caesars Palace employees.

“Taking care of our customers is our utmost priority,” shared Ross. “The UPS Store is a great partner and team member in being responsive to our customers’ needs and proving their commitment to service.”
